|Boating Blogs: What You’ve Missed|
|Thursday, 22 September 2011 11:23|
Whew – this blog’s been going for a long time, and for several months now I’ve also been doing a boating blog for Texas Fish and Game. Yes, I know, the volume here has dropped from daily to a couple of times a week. But you can still get a near-daily dose of fishing and boating if you check out the Texan blogs, as well. In fact, I’ll bet there have been quite a few blogs you’ve missed, and plenty of those TFG blogs which you never even knew about. Looking for some good reading? Here are some of the topics that have proved most popular, for readers of the BIG state:
Dogs on Boats – This one covers the ins and outs of boating with Fido aboard. There are plenty of helpful tips, plus some advice on what not to do with a dog aboard.
Are Your Balls Trying to Tell You Something? – No, not those balls – I’m talking about the balls in your fuel lines. Whether they’re collapsed, hard to pump, easy to pump, or firm, they can give you a lot of insight into why your engine might not be running properly.
GPS Jamming – Could it Leave you High and Dry?- Do you trust your GPS implicitly? It’s a lot easier to jam GPS than most people think, and it can even happen unintentionally. In fact, several areas have been jammed inadvertently in the past few years, and sunspots can throw your GPS out of whack as well. Don’t leave that compass and paper chart on dry land - this system not reliable enough to trust alone, especially for boaters heading offshore!
There’s more – lots more – to check out at www.fishgame.com. So have at it!
